Inaugural Poem 2025

A Poetic Tribute to the Saints

Dedicated to the Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

This poem is offered in honor of the only true Church—restored in the United States by Jesus Christ Himself, through His chosen Prophet, Joseph Smith.

Today, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints unites over 17 million members across the globe, each bearing witness to the Restoration and the living gospel.

We believe that the Priesthood keys and divine authority, once withdrawn from the earth due to transgression and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, have been restored to His Church—through revelation, covenant, and grace.

May this poem reflect the light of that Restoration, and the eternal truth that we are alive in Christ.

We are Alive

Alive,

Like life itself,

I am alive!

They said that I was a slave,

A curse,

No damn I gave –

I survived,

To rise as a Goddess,

Immortal.

Standing tall, –

I am alive!

Alive,

Like a baby’s cry,

Newborn,

Wondering why

There is a light!

Opened eyes,

Free,

Chains are torn,

I am alive!

Alive

Like a storm, –

I quiet down my cry

To raise it up

Strong!

I am alive!

Wait …

I am not alone!

I can hear your voice!

It is nice!

The light in your eyes, –

It is bright!

I recognize

You!

It is alright!

The quiet had gone. –

New,

Wise,

Together we rise,

Like a storm!

Seventeen million,

Born,

Plus, you and me

Free!

We are alive!

Hey!

We are the people,

Hey, World!

We are alive!

Dear Lord,

Bless the USA!

Voice joins a voice,

Eyes meet eyes,

Conquered lie,

Conquered death, –

YES,

You and me –

We are FREE,

Chains are torn,

New, we are born,

Immortal,

We are standing tall!

Disciples of Christ,

We rise,

Because Christ was born,

Sort it all:

He came to the USA,

To give us the Church.

To give us the land,

And

The new word.

Hey, World!

We are the Mormons!

Dear Lord,

Keep us updated, please,

How to spread the bliss?

Is there a new book?

Take an empowering look

At the needy and homeless, –

Together we are in the US, –

Together in the whole world,

We need you now, good Lord,

For your truth and your light

We strive,

Together

WE ARE ALIVE.
