For My Daughters
June 6, 2025

A new poem for my daughters (not included in the new book Letter U).

I declare it, with every my line β
You have an amazing power, β
The power is like a flower πΊ
Nurture it, let it shine!
The power is in your soul, β
The beauty that shines from your heart,
The fire, that sparkles and growth
Together with you, my sweetheart! π
The wisdom, that learns from failures
And keeps you from future mistakes,
The courage, that teaches you values,
The textbooks could never forsake.
The light is there to help you
And guide you to do what is right,
I pray every day that it lets you
To see all the beauty, in spite
Of the boredom and loneliness
In spite of the grief and pain
In spite of the creed and madness
In freedom, that is pure and sain.
I cannot offer you money,
I have no house to claim,
But neither had you, my honey,
When you came to my life and remained
My soul, my cure, my beauty,
The one to adore and love, β
I called you cutie-patootie,
My pinky, my bunny, my dove!
You taught me to laugh at devil,
In spite of the blood and falls,
You taught me to be stronger than evil,
Like there is no evil at all!
Do not leave me, my love, forgive me
For I had to live apart,
If only I could, believe me,
Iβd always be with you, my heart.
